Service with a Smile- Weekend in Frisco

photoI was reminded this weekend, once again, how it’s the little things that count.

There simply is no substitute for good customer service.

Kathy and I had originally planned to spend this weekend in San Antonio with some friends.  But her work was needing her to be close by this weekend so we ended staying in Frisco, TX for the weekend.

After my last visit to the Roughrider Ball park to shoot a AA game a few weeks ago, I knew I’d want to come back to enjoy a game with Kathy…as the park really is nice and fan friendly.  So we booked a room at the Embassy Suites which is right next to the ball field.  We had some furniture shopping to do so we just made a weekend of it.

We arrived a bit early for the scheduled check-in and were happy to see we were eligible for a free upgrade.  The service and attention to detail from the entire staff here was just amazing. There was not an employee in this place that did not greet us with a smile, a kind word, an offer to assist us in any way. Whether you work in a business, a hospital, a church, school….you name it- treating the people you serve with a smile and genuine courtesy makes a lasting impression. Period.

And I might add the view of the ball park from the upgrade was nothing to complain about. Very Nice! photo-1

Had a nice breakfast with our youngest, Caralyn after she pulled a 12 hour night shift in ER at Baylor.  Been awhile since I had seen her and I realize I’m partial, being her dad, but she’s a cutie, not to mention an amazing young lady.

Kathy and I spent about an hour or so at a very unique, and newly built park in downtown Dallas.  It was built right on top of the Woodall Rogers free way that connects US 75 with I-35.  You’d just have to see it to truly appreciate the creative thought that went in to it’s design.  Got some cute shots of some kids playing in the fountains there and some landscape shots of the park itself.  Very impressive.

Feeling quite blessed to be the father of three amazing young women. Minda was on her way back to DC today and Lisa and Paul were in flight on their way to Africa where they will spend two weeks with their church group ministering to various needs of the people Malawi.

I posted a gallery of some pictures from the game we attended Saturday and of the Klyde Warren Park I mentioned.  Some fun shots in there that you can enjoy by clicking on the photo below.

Feeling Blessed in so many ways.
